My work

Money! I love to earn it, spend it and write about it – and I’ve worked with some of the biggest names in the finance space. 

  • Wrote inclusive customer communications for Coutts, covering everything from straightforward investment portfolio updates to sensitive xxxx xxxx.
  • Created direct mail campaigns for Bank of Ireland, designed as warm reminders that customers’ mortgages were approaching renewal and helping maintain engagement at a key decision point.
  • Wrote blogs and email campaigns for Lloyds Banking Group brands including Lloyds, Halifax and Bank of Scotland, addressing common customer concerns (e.g. “Are contactless payments safe?”) while supporting product education and trust.
  • Scripted video ads for Post Office Mortgages, highlighting financial services available through the Post Office that many potential customers were unaware of.
  • Worked on a Consumer Duty project with Coutts, reviewing and refining hundreds of customer-facing documents to ensure clarity, accessibility and suitability for different levels of financial knowledge. Translated complex banking and compliance language into clear, user-friendly copy without creating regulatory risk.
  • Helped train a large language model (LLM) at Coutts to review documents and suggest improvements to structure and tone, giving product managers a faster way to assess document quality and decide when human editing was needed.

Fitness and fashion are long-time passions of mine, and I'm always looking for ways to bring them both into my work.

  • Teamed up with Gymshark’s internal marketing team and another freelance copywriter to fully rewrite in-app content.
  • Wrote fashion editorial for Cereal and Luxury Briefing, restaurant reviews for olive, and editorial and product-led content for Aston Martin Magazine, covering fashion and design.
  • Hosted and managed online events for the V&A Academy, supporting courses on fashion and the arts.
  • Wrote product descriptions for Ted Baker.
  • Created blog content for independent brands including Katie Rowland (jewellery), Love Story London (bridal) and Lascivious (lingerie).
  • Created xxxx social and email content for PureGym.
  • Wrote product content for Girard-Perregaux timepieces for Aston Martin’s brand magazine.
  • Created CRM email campaign content for Samsung wearable tech product launches.

  • Created SEO-optimised content for Lovehoney, including how-to guides and advice on partnered and solo pleasure.
  • Created web content for Coco de Mer as a staff writer, including product descriptions and blog content.
  • Wrote press releases for NSFW lingerie brand Lascivious.
  • Developed a seductive new brand tone for Luscombe, positioning it as a pleasingly grown-up alternative to alcohol.
  • Led social content creation and community management for YouTube Advertisers, focusing on how creators turn parasocial relationships with fans into sustainable businesses both online and offline.
  • Wrote paid social content for EE’s recruitment campaign.
  • Wrote email campaigns for Twitch, where communities come together to watch and engage with livestream content.

Also! I teach creative marketing, and win awards for my fiction.

I co-wrote a module (called 'Creative Digital Storytelling') on Falmouth University’s Marketing and Digital Communications MA with the course leader. We designed it to show students how to use insight and strategy to create narrative-driven content and creative campaigns that build trust with customers. I led the module for four years, managing tutors and working closely with each cohort.

 

The number of students achieving distinctions doubled over the course of my time at Falmouth; proud of 'em all! External examiners were fans of the course too, describing it as, “cutting edge” and saying: “Falmouth can pride itself on how this programme is geared to equip students both intellectually and practically for their future careers”.

 

Aaand I write fiction: I hold a first-class MA in Creative Writing from Bath Spa University (this course is ‘widely regarded as one of the best courses of its kind’). My writing has won and been shortlisted for prizes judged by leading literary agencies and publishers including Little, Brown, Janklow Nesbit, Lutyens & Rubinstein and Felicity Bryan Associates.
